Yerevan Drama Theatre Named After Hrachia Ghaplanian
In 1967, the drama theater named after Hrachya Ghaplanyan was established in the capital Yerevan. The founder of the theater is himself, Artist of the USSR H. Ghaplanyan.
The first performance that was staged in the theater was the play "Optimistic Tragedy", which was very popular with the audience. The theater can be proud of its tours, as it had performances in Moscow, Tbilisi, Paris, Beirut, Los Angeles and a number of other cities, participated in a number of famous Shakespeare festivals.
The play schedule of the theater is diverse, here you can enjoy both classical and modern works. More than 100 plays have been staged here.
The theater has creative and technical departments: painting, literary, stage department, administration, music and light design departments, artistic council, directorate.
The theater has had many famous and talented actors, many of whom were loved and appreciated by the audience, such as Artur Utmazyan, Luiza Ghambaryan, Hrachya Harutyunyan, Lusine Kirakosyan and others.
